What is the TPC?
The TPC (Taxe sur les petits colis) is a mandatory administrative tax introduced by the French government in 2026. It applies to small parcels imported into France from outside the European Union. This tax was implemented to help manage the volume of international e-commerce and cover the costs of customs processing.
How the TPC Works
The TPC is a flat fee of €2 plus VAT applied per product category within a shipment. For example, a parcel containing only books would incur one fee, while a parcel containing both books and calendars would incur two fees, as they fall under different customs classifications.
Our Shipping Surcharge
To ensure your order reaches you without delays or unexpected "Cash on Delivery" invoices, we have added a €3 surcharge to our shipping rates for all French orders.
This surcharge covers:
The €2.40 TPC Tax: The flat-rate fee required by French Customs.
Carrier Processing: The administrative fee charged by Royal Mail to electronically declare your goods and pre-pay the tax on your behalf.
Why We Collect This Upfront
By including these costs in your shipping total at checkout, we ensure that your package is "Delivery Duty Paid." This means you won't have to pay additional administrative fees to the courier or visit a local post office to release your package. It allows for a faster, more transparent delivery process directly to your door.
